At the end of your studies there will be a final examination. Should you successfully complete your course you will be qualified to work as a social education worker in all welfare institutions, after-school care institutions, student homes, boarding schools, youth centres, in flat-sharing communities and advice centres, as well as in the field of special education dealing with mentally or physically disabled people, leisure education and social projects.

Students who complete the course will have received comprehensive pedagogical-didactic training for all fields of social work. They will be equipped with the following skills and competencies: 

• Planning, execution and evaluation of social educational work (relevant to the requirements of the target group), intercultural learning, coaching pupils (general, but also in specific subjects), specific remedial measures for, and integration of, children and adolescents.
• Co-operation with specialists in therapeutic pedagogy (medical practitioners, psychologists, therapists) and other representatives of pedagogical institutions.
• Consultation and counselling with parents and guardians, teamwork, group-leading functions, leading discussions, advisory competencies and conflict management.
