Training to be a social education worker
The College of Social Pedagogy offers a broad course of initial training for social education workers. You can choose between two forms of study.
Full time study
A full time course of study lasts 4 semesters (approx. 40 hours per week, 5 days per week) This is supllemented by practice sessions (on a daily, blocked and holiday basis). On completion of your studies you will receive a diploma, which is recognised throughout the EU.
Part time study
A part time course of study lasts 6 semesters (tuition takes place on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings or on two Saturday per month (on average). Daily and blocked practice must be completed in evenings, at weekends or during the holidays (approx. 450 hours in the course of 5 semesters).

- Basics of Pedagogy and Didactics
- Gaining experience of various fields of social work
- Creative arts
- Independent study (projects and seminar work)
- Learning to provide coaching in Maths, English and German
- Personal development:
Evaluation of one's own values and attitudes - New perspectives and ideas in dealing with others
