L045 - Differentiation in the English Classroom · Strategies for mixed-ability classes in lower secondary

Differentiated classes include learners with diverse profiles and needs, but implementing differentiated teaching can be challenging. What’s needed are practical, easy-to-use strategies that help all learners succeed and surpass their perceived potential. In this session, Chris Jory offers a fresh perspective on key principles of differentiated teaching and demonstrates a wide range of techniques for all four skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary, showing how these principles can be applied effectively with little or no extra work for the teacher.

L063 - Virtual Tea Time · Teachers' think tank - Current Affairs and Esl Tools

There is always a topic of interest and material to try out in class. Occasional surprise guests add an extra kick to the sessions.
Participants are also welcome to join only one or two of the meetings. Flexible participation is fine, too, even dates might (have to) be adapted.
If you like speaking English and communicating with and learning from interesting colleagues, join us.

Y110 - NILE meets PHDL: Getting creative with Grammar · Making grammar teaching enjoyable and memorable

This session looks at ways of making the presentation and practice of grammar more engaging, enjoyable and memorable for learners, using (slightly) creative techniques which also contribute towards ‘noticing’ and remembering what otherwise may pass them by and in some cases to ‘deeper processing’.
