Where the individual matters
Our counselling centre provides space and time for profession-specific services to teachers, head teachers and schools: every-day school life is characterised by challenges, problems and taxing situations.
To us, you are at the centre, and school as an institution. Working together in an atmosphere of mutual respect and absolute confidentiality, and the voluntary character of the encounter are essential to us.
- We are the first port of call and offer 'counselling' in the sense of external guidance by a competent person (such as supervisors, mediators with experience in matters of school) who is not a member of staff of the specific school. We want to support you in clarifying your aims and, seeing the situation from outside, develop new perspectives on your problem.
- Your problems, and your specific situation, constitute the starting point for the process; therefore we first endeavour to clarify what you expect and what you need, e.g. information, establishing contacts to school and non-school experts, or an individualised scheme of action (coaching, supervision, mediation, school development)
- Jointly, we see ourselves as supporters of autonomous solutions to challenges, such as leadership tasks, conflicts, professional strain, or questions to do with career and life. 'Counselling free from advice' respects your autonomy, your uniqueness and your specific competences.
- The members of the Counselling Centre provide guidance for both school as an organisation, and for the people affected and their learning and working processes.
